La Manoa – A Coffee of Hope and Abundance
Grown in the high-altitude landscapes of Planadas, Tolima, in the village of Los Alpes, La Manoa is a coffee rooted in both tradition and transformation. This farm, with 50 years of history, has remained under the care of a single owner throughout its existence. Now under the stewardship of José Edwin Garzón, La Manoa continues to thrive, embracing a new chapter while preserving its rich legacy.
The name La Manoa is inspired by the Latin word manus, symbolizing union and hope. In biblical references, "Manoa" is associated with a land abundant in bread and honey, a fitting parallel to the lush, fertile soil of this farm, where exceptional coffee is cultivated with care.
This Geisha varietal is grown at elevations between 1,750 and 2,200 meters, benefiting from the pristine microclimate of the Tolima region. The coffee undergoes a washed process with extended fermentation—20 hours in cherry, followed by 46 hours after pulping—resulting in a cup that expresses remarkable clarity and complexity.
Expect a vibrant, floral aroma with delicate sweetness, a silky body, and an intricate profile that showcases the elegance of Geisha. La Manoa is more than just a coffee—it is a testament to the richness of the land, the dedication of its producer, and the promise of something truly special in every cup.
